Our story

The Story Behind Who's Looking for Me?

Some of the most meaningful ministries are born from life's deepest pain.

In December 2014, our family experienced a tragedy that forever changed our lives. My older brother, Calvin Jackson Jr., unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord after an act of gun violence committed by someone within our extended family. It was not gang related, drug related, or the result of a heated argument. It was the heartbreaking consequence of untreated mental illness and a life changing moment that left an entire family devastated.

The loss of Calvin created a wave of grief, trauma, financial hardship, and separation that affected every member of our family. Like many families facing an unexpected loss, we were unprepared. Because my brother did not have life insurance, we relied on the generosity of others, donations, and online fundraising to provide him with a proper homegoing service. The emotional weight of that season was overwhelming, and the financial burden made an already heartbreaking situation even more difficult.

Calvin was known for his infectious smile, his sense of humor, and one phrase he said almost every day.

Who's looking for me?

It was his way of bringing laughter into a room. Today, those words have become something much greater. They have become a reminder that every life matters, every family deserves support, and no one should have to navigate tragedy alone.

For years after his passing, our family struggled with grief, depression, unanswered questions, and separation. But through God's grace, prayer, counseling, honest conversations, forgiveness, and a commitment to healing together, the Lord began restoring what had been broken.

Today, we can say with grateful hearts that God has restored our family in ways we never thought possible.

Because of that restoration, Who's Looking for Me? was created. Not simply to remember Calvin, but to ensure that other families receive the compassion, guidance, education, and practical support we wish had been available to us during one of the darkest seasons of our lives.

The Who's Looking for Me? program exists because one family's pain became a calling to help thousands of others. Calvin's legacy continues through every family comforted, every life prepared, every child supported, and every heart reminded that God has not abandoned them. God has a plan to make your life just as if nothing ever went wrong. This is the message God wants every family member to hold on to.

His memory lives on not only in the hearts of those who loved him, but in every act of compassion this program extends. Through Christ, we believe redemption is possible, restoration is real, and no tragedy has the final word. The One who sits high and looks low is with us, and in Him, there is always hope.

Our prayer is that no family has to walk through tragedy alone. Together, we are breathing life back into communities one family at a time.

Jesus truly is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
